THE Met Office has issued another wind warning for Hampshire just days after Storm Eleanor battered the county.

Heavy rain was forecast to fall until 8am today and the wind warning is in place from 8am until 7pm tonight.

The county has seen bad weather bring down trees and power cables and cause travel problems in recent weeks.

More than 50 trees were brought down by Storm Eleanor overnight from Tuesday into Wednesday.

A Met Office statement on today's warning says: "A spell of strong and gusty winds is expected to move eastwards during Thursday.

"Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely with some journeys taking longer.

"Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are also possible.

"There is also the potential for some short term loss of power supplies.

"It is likely that some coastal routes, seafronts and coastal communities exposed to these winds will be affected by spray and/or large waves."
