‘A Night with Janis Joplin’ is presented Monday at Van Wezel
Janis Joplin had one of the most distinctive voices of the 20th century, and that sound and the music that inspired her are at the heart of “A Night with Janis Joplin,” which will be presented Monday at the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall. Kelly McIntyre stars in the touring production which features such Joplin hits as “Me and Bobby McGee” and “Piece of My Heart” and celebrates the stars who influenced her, including Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Odetta, Nina Simone and Bessie Smith.”
