Bevens leads Mosley contingent at Tate

GONZALEZ — Mosley finished seventh overall at the recent 16-team Tate Invitational with three wrestlers finishing in the top four placers of their weight class.

Dawson Bevens lost to Noah Kryfka of Crestview in the finals at 106 pounds to place second with a 3-1 tournament

record.

Jarred Pitts pinned Jean Tinoco of Gulf Shores for third place at 170 pounds to earn a 5-1 tournament record. Landon Harris was pinned by Casey Peppers of Arnold at 220 pounds and finished fourth, 2-2 for the tournament.

Dora won with 209 points followed by Fultondale with 174, Baldwin County 157.5, Crestview 152, Tate 150.5, Gulf Shores 115, Mosley 94, Arnold 66, Milton 64, Daphne 59 and Pace 58.

North Bay Haven finished 16th with 11 points.

 

Wewa eighth

Wewahitchka placed eighth out of 11 teams competing in the Evangel Holiday Classic wrestling tournament in Shreveport, La.

The Gators had three wrestlers medal. Junior Jonathan Harvey was second at 126 pounds, junior Dylan Jacobs was third at 132 and senior Malachi Davenport was third at 195.
