Mobile, drugs seized in Nabha Jail

PATIALA: The police officials have seized another mobile phone from maximum security Nabha jail along with drugs from a prisoner, who returned to jail after his parole. The cops said accused Balvir Singh of Chakk Tahliwala in Ferozepur returned from his parole on Monday.

"He was frisked at the gate where a mobile phone, a sim card, a mobile battery and 365 narcotic tablets were seized," the cops said. "The accused was now booked under sections of Prisons Act at Kotwali Nabha police station," they added.


Notably, the incident has happened two days after the police had seized a mobile phone and beedis from the jail. At the time of checking, the cops found a mobile phone, 64 packets of 'Jarda' and 3 bundles of beedis from the jail premises.
