Southwest Cedar Rapids bank branch robbed

Suspect remains at large, police say

CEDAR RAPIDS — A southwest Cedar Rapids bank branch was robbed around midday today, police said.

According to police, a man entered the US Bank at 129 16th Ave. SW, near the Czech Village neighborhood, at 11:47 a.m. and demanded cash. No weapon was displayed and no injuries were reported.

Police described the suspect as a black man, approximately 6 feet tall, with a thin build and wearing a gray hoodie.

Police are investigating whether the man left the scene on foot or in a vehicle, police said. He remains at large.
