An Evansville Police Department report says a 7-month-old boy wasn't properly strapped into a car seat when he died after a car fleeing an officer crashed into one carrying his family.

The Evansville Courier & Press reported Wednesday that the report said Prince Carter was ejected from the vehicle but the car seat wasn't in the Nov. 29 crash that also fatally injured his 2-year-old sister, Princess, and his father, 26-year-old Terence Barker. Princess was listed as being restrained in a car seat

Police have said a car driven by 26-year-old Frederick McFarland crashed into a car driven by the children's mother, Janae Carter. Police say an officer tried to stop McFarland for an improper license plate. He's charged with resisting law enforcement that resulted in death and injury.
