Jose Mourinho is keen to add stars to his ranks this month as he looks to close the gap to Premier League leaders Manchester City.

United are keen on Moura who is down the pecking order in Paris.

The Red Devils are currently lacking in options out wide with Henrikh Mkhitaryan also set to leave the club after falling out of favour with Mourinho.

And BetStars believe United are the frontrunners to complete the signing of Moura.

Director of Trading Ian Marmion explained: “Manchester United have emerged as the 6/4 favourites with BetStars to sign Paris St-Germain outcast Lucas Moura who has slipped down the pecking order at the Parc de Princes.

“The 25-year-old has been a long-term target for United, with Sir Alex Ferguson eyeing up a move for the winger back in 2012, and now the Red Devils looked primed to finally get their man in January.

“Inter Milan are also in the hunt for Moura and can be backed at 6/1 to hijack United’s deal, while Chelsea and Roma are both priced at 12/1 to make a swoop for the Brazilian midfielder.”

Manchester United return to action on Friday night when they take on Derby in the FA Cup third round.
