The Uttarakhand cops will start skill development programme in the near future in the Pauri and Almora districts. The step will be on the lines of the programme started for youth by the Delhi police. Under the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana, the unemployed youth will be provided training in various skills free of cost.The Govt will bear the expense of the training under PMKVY. The selected unemployed youth will have to undergo a 60 to 90 day training.
The Pauri SSP Jagat Ram Joshi said that the Ntl Skill Development Corp will appoint its training partner in the distt to train in the different courses. The training partner agency through the medium of expert trainers will impart training in the different courses at the training center. In Pauri district, the training centers will be in Srinagar and Kotdwar. Joshi said that the Srinagar and Kotdwar police stations will select the unemployed youth for the training with the help of the nearest local police stations according to their qualification and talent. The minimum qualification of the youth will be high school. The unemployed youth applicants have to fill the candidate enrollment form for skill development in order to be selected for the training. The SSP informed that under the scheme training will be provided in computers (data entry operator and assistant software developer), hospitality, tourist guide, automobile mechanics and driving and salesman training course.
