Teenager killed, 5 injured in Laxmipur gas cylinder blast

Laxmipur: A teenage boy was burnt alive and five others injured when a fire broke out in cylinder explosion at a hotel in Ramganj upazila of the district early Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Ahad Hossain, 15, son of Abu Sayed Guzar.

Local people said the fire broke out when a gas cylinder of Mona Miah Hotel in municipal super market exploded around 1:30am and it soon engulfed the entire area.

Being informed, Ramganj Fire Service and Civil Defence and a team of Ramganj Police Station went to the spot and doused the fire.

Police, later, recovered the charred body of Ahad from the hotel.

Ramganj Police Station OC Md Tota Miah said the body was sent to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital morgue.
