Marriage breakdown: Buddhist women show highest separation rate

Data from Census 2011 show that the separation rate among religious communities is highest for Buddhist women, where 12 of every 1,000 married females were reported to be separated. This is followed by the Christian, Hindu, Muslim, Sikh and Jain communities. In terms of numbers, Hindu women naturally dominated.
