EARLY — The Early Lady Horns chalked up a non-district victory over the Priddy Lady Pirates by a 58-27 count Tuesday night.
The Lady Horns jumped out to a 9-3 lead after one quarter and owned a 19-12 advantage at halftime. Early then stretched the lead to 32-18 through three periods and outscored Priddy 26-9 over the final eight minutes.
Ellie Ryan led the Lady Horns with a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while MaKayla DeLeon chipped in 14 points and Kacee Gober contributed 15 rebounds.
The Lady Horns open District 6-3A competition at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Bangs.
Priddy 72, Longhorns 46
EARLY — Turnovers plagued the Early Longhorns throughout Tuesda night’s 72-46 non-district loss to Priddy.
Coming off a 1-3 performance at the TexasBank Holiday Classic over the weekend, the Longhorns’ record slipped to 6-14 overall.
Devyn Burns scored a team-high 12 points for Early followed by Rowdy Elkins with 10, Brent Grooms with nine, Taylor Hurt with eight, John Griffin with five and Timmy Smithson with two points.
The Longhorns continue their non-district slate at 6 p.m. Friday in Winters where they face Ira in a neutral site showdown.
