If you want to start off the New Year looking at beautiful art, you are in luck.

Mana Contemporary is featuring Alex Czetwertynski's exhibit, "First Light," at their Jersey City location.

Czetwertynski, a resident of the New Media Program at Mana BSMT, is featuring eight new media and light works during this solo exhibition. The eight pieces, featuring TVs, projectors, power strips and cables, will reflect on the basic role of light itself in today's culture.

The most recent exhibit curated by Czetwertynski showcased 23 residents and artists.

Czetwertynski is a digital artist and curator who specializes in technology and interactive and media arts with large-scale immersive experiences a part of his work.

Born in Belgium and currently based in Brooklyn, he graduated from the University of Paris IV La Sorbonne with a Masters in Philosophy, according to the Mana Contemporary website.

Czetwertynski is the curator of Day for Night, a festival that combines  musicians with art installations, transforming live music production by introducing  sensory experiences, collaborating with artists such as Doug Aitken, Jessica Mitrani, threeASFOUR, and Orlan, the Mana site said.

Mana Contemporary is open Monday through Friday with tours at 3 p.m. The exhibit is free and open to the public.

It will remain open until Feb. 1 for people to see.
