Rickitt could barely get her words out when she was battered by the 60mph winds as enormous waves crashed and roared behind her. 

Eleanor has already almost killed one woman, who is currently fighting for her life in hospital after being struck down by a freak wave, but Ricktt carried on dangerously close to the Blackpool promenade. 

Rickitt even went against her own advice after urging viewers not to go anywhere near the shore, while doing exactly that. 

Holmes, 58, yelped as he called the scenes “very scary”, and pushed Rickitt to “watch out for those waves”. 

"I've been here since 5pm this morning and this is the worst it's been. The sea is really kicking up now,” Rickitt explained, miraculously with a professional smile still beaming on her face. 

As Rickitt finished, Holmes gasped: “Go and get yourself dried out Katie. Thank you very much for braving all that."

However, This Morning fans were deeply concerned for Rickitt and begged This Morning to cut the report. 

"#thismorning tell your reporter to get herself to safety. Poor girl standing in those waves in Blackpool. Above and beyond,” cried one audience member, as another agreed: “#ThisMorning is that women stupid standing so close to the waves. Stupid people reporting so close to water when it so unpredictable. Would it be worth your life if them waves took you."

A third asked: “Why’s the weather reporter backing up slyly towards the sea is she hoping to get hit by a wave for that viral shot?”

“Reporters warning us of the dangers of walking by sea walls whilst Storm Eleanor is on, so they're standing in treacherous weather with their microphones?” slammed one more.
