PM, CM may visit Gr Noida on Jan 12 for youth event

Noida: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and UP chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath may visit Greater Noida on January 12 for the National Youth Festival. GB Nagar district magistrate B N Singh on Wednesday held a meeting with officials to discuss preparations for the event.
Singh said the Prime Minister and chief minister are likely to attend the programme in Gautam Buddha University, which will see the participation of around 5,000 students from across the country.

The National Youth Festival is an annual gathering of youths where various activities including competitive ones are held.


It is organised to commemorate the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda by the Union ministry of youth affairs and sports and one of the state governments from January 12-16 every year.


Prabhat Kumar, commissioner Meerut zone, will visit the event venue on Saturday to oversee the preparations. The police have already started preparations for the VIP movement and planning elaborate arrangements, routes and a helipad spot.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi accompanied by the chief minister, had inaugurated the Magenta Line metro network at Botanical Garden metro station on December 25.
