SIOUX CITY | Wednesday's weather will be punctuated by sunny skies and frigid temperatures.
Brad Temeyer, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service of Sioux Falls, said Wednesday's high temperature will be around 10 degrees.
For Wednesday night into Thursday morning, the low will be about -8, with windchill dragging that figure down to -10 or -15. Windchill values in areas east of Sioux City, like Cherokee, could be as low as -20 to -25.
Thursday will have similar temperatures, with a high around 9 degrees, but clouds will overtake the sky.
Sioux City should stay dry, but there is a "small chance" of precipitation in areas east of town on Thursday.
"Just a couple tenths of an inch," Temeyer said.
Friday will likewise be mostly cloudy, with highs around 14 degrees. Low temperatures on Friday night into Saturday morning will be around -1.
Temperatures outside Sioux City will once again be colder, with low temperatures near Spencer around -6 degrees.
"Colder air is further to the east," Temeyer said.
