Hyundai scrappage scheme extends in the UK until March 2018

Hyundai has extended its into 2018.

The Scrappage and Emissions Reduction scheme offers customers up to £5,000 off the price of a new car.

Now the deal is extended until the end of 31st March 2018 and targets older and more polluting vehicles on the roads.

To qualify for the deal, drivers must trade in their vehicle which has Euro 1-4 emissions standard - which is cars that were registered before 31st December 2009.

The cars that are available under the scheme are the i10, i20, i30, i40, ix20, IONIQ, KONA, Tucson and Santa Fe.

IONIQ is the least polluting of the cars on offer from Hyundai under the deal, being a plug-in hybrid.

It benefits from a £2,000 contribution from the car manufacturer and £2,500 Government Plug-in Hybrid.

Santa Fe is the vehicle with the biggest discount rate, with a £5,000 incentive being offered.

Under the terms of the scheme, the most polluting, those with Euro 1-3 emissions standard will be scrapped, while owners of a Euro 4 model can trade-in their vehicle for any model across the Hyundai range.
