'I stand by it' Topless festival-goer who BATTERED man 'groping' her has no regrets

A WOMAN has defended attacking a man who allegedly groped her as she walked topless through a festival, after footage of the incident went viral.

Madeline Anello-Kitzmiller wore only glitter to cover her chest at the Rhythm and Vine festival in New Zealand – held between December 29 and January 1.

Footage taken by an onlooker shows the topless 20-year-old walking through the crowds with her friend, Kiri-Ann Hatfield, when a reveller runs up to them and appears to touch her breast.

He runs away but the enraged pair instantly turn around and chase after him.

They start punching him as he sits on the ground before walking off.

After the video went viral, viewers were split on who was to blame.

Some criticised her choice of outfit while others claimed groping is never acceptable regardless of what someone is wearing.

And Madeline has now said she has no regrets.

“I stand by my actions and hope that I've inspired women to feel comfortable in their bodies, no matter how they look, and to stick up for themselves when anybody says otherwise, or tries to deny you the right to protect your own body,” she told Daily Mail Australia.

She said that a day earlier, she was abused by both male and female festival-goers for wearing a sheer t-shirt.

“He grabbed my breast,” she recalled of the latest incident.

“I hit him. There was a lot of built up anger coming from harassment throughout the day.

“This happens everywhere, not just New Zealand.

“A human's body is their own, and nobody has a right to touch you without your consent, regardless of what they're wearing or the lack thereof.”

Police have not received a complaint relating to the incident.
