Doha: The Foreign Ministry said it has concluded the project of the international network for the electronic linking of 97 diplomatic and consular missions abroad with the ministry's headquarters.

Through the implementation of the electronic linkage project, Qatari diplomatic missions abroad can use all of the ministry's programs and internal electronic systems that are implemented in the ministry's office effectively and safely without access to the Internet, the ministry said, adding that this is a major achievement in the field of information technology in the Ministry in terms of the speed and accuracy in handling processes between the ministry and its missions abroad.

The Ministry pointed out that the actual implementation of the project began in 2016 as part of its strategic plan to develop its work system and provide protection for its various programs and electronic systems. The project is the largest technological project in the history of the Ministry.

To complement this achievement, the information systems department also launched websites for 97 Qatari diplomatic missions abroad.

The launch of the websites comes within the ministry's efforts to provide accurate and updated information about the State of Qatar and its diplomatic relations, and to consolidate its electronic identity.

The department used advanced technology in the design of the websites, which were all centrally hosted at the ministry with the necessary protection systems and linked to the ministry's main website and other related services.
