United States President Donald Trump’s yet another tweeted has landed him in a soup. After tweeting about nuclear war with North Korea, Trump has now taunted the media announcement of ‘the most dishonest & corrupt media awards.” With upcoming Hollywood’s awards season, Trump tweeted on Thursday that he will be announcing awards in the category on Monday at 5 o’clock. The 45th US President further wrote that the “subjects will cover dishonesty and bad reporting in various categories from the fake news media”. Trump has attacked the press throughout 2017 and seems he is going to continue the same in 2018. Meanwhile, Twitterati came up with their version of awards and tweets.

He has had a tough relationship with American media from the beginning of his presidency until now. Trump in the past one year has accused several media organisations, networks and publications of presenting distorted facts about him. He has time and again used the term “fake media” to show his protest against media’s portrayal of him. And following his own suit, Trump on Wednesday tweeted saying, “I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o’clock. Subjects will cover Dishonesty & Bad Reporting in various categories from the Fake News Media. Stay tuned!”

Here is the tweet:

While Trump appeared serious about announcing “fake awards” Twitter had a field day and did came with hilarious connotations. In the past year, Trump has called out major newspapers, networks and questioned their anonymous sources. He had also tweeted in May saying, “Whenever you see the words ‘sources say’ in the fake news media, and they don’t mention names, it is very possible that those sources don’t exist but are made up by fake news writers. #FakeNews is the enemy!” In his New Year tweet, he wished “friends, supporters, enemies, haters, and even the very dishonest Fake News Media, a Happy and Healthy New Year.” Recently, he also congratulated the new publisher of “The Failing New York Times” along with some unsolicited advice.
