Snowstorm causes school closing, delays in N.J. for Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018
School districts throughout New Jersey are getting a jump on the expected heavy snow on Thursday, announcing closures before the storm hits the region.
How much snow is expect to fall Thursday?
Accumulations will vary greatly depending on where you live. The storm could drop up to 12 inches of snow in some coastal regions of the state and 4 to 8 inches of snow in nearly all inland portions of southern New Jersey, according to the National Weather Service. About 1 to 4 inches of snow is expected to hit North Jersey.
A flood advisory has also been issued for New Jersey coastal regions.

When is the snowfall expected to end?
Snow is expected to begin Wednesday night, continuing through the night and into Thursday morning’s commute. The snowfall is then expected to remain steady through the morning, before tapering off in the afternoon on Thursday.
