HAHIRA, Ga. – Larry Joseph Kelly, 69, of Hahira, passed away at South Georgia Medical Center on Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.
He was born in Waterbury, Conn., on Dec. 9, 1948, to the late George Joseph and Grace Gloria Raspo Kelly. He was of the Catholic faith. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs and was a season ticket holder.
He had a great sense of humor and loved to garden and spend time with his grandchildren. He was a former member of South Georgia Classic Car Club.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Judith Smith Kelly, of Hahira; his daughter, Erin (Jason) Gaskins, of Hahira; his granddaughters, Emma and Eslea; his brother, Gene (Paulette) Kelly of Waterbury, and one sister; and his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Alan (Mary) Smith, Billy (Lynn) Smith; his mother-in-law, Margaret Smith; and many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, and his father-in-law, William Dickson Smith.
A visitation will be Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. at Carson McLane Funeral Home.
