Ryle Koenig scored 34 points to lead Notre Dame to an 82-72 SEI Superconference South Division boys basketball victory over Danville at Father Minett Gymnasium Tuesday night.
Koenig scored 15 field goals and was 4-for-4 from the free throw line. Three other Nikes reached double figures. Jaxon Osborn scored 14 points, Mitchell Brent had 13 and Jett Tjaden added 10.
Max Wilcox paced Danville with 30 points. Kensett Taylor and Tristan Miller each scored 12. Hunter Perkins added 10.
Notre Dame (5-4) plays Louisa-Muscatine at Letts Thursday. Danville (6-4) hosts Van Buren Friday.
Highland 79, Wapello 75
Highland's Zack Lasek poured in 36 points and the Huskies removed Wapello from the undefeated ranks in a North Division game at Riverside.
Four players reached double figures for Wapello, now 7-1. Trenton Massner led the Indians with 20 points. Keaton Mitchell scored 17, Logan Belzer had 11 and Sam Short added 10 points.
Wapello hosts Columbus Friday.
Lone Tree 54, Columbus 50
Columbus's Tommy Pretz and Eric Valdez combined for 34 points, but Lone Tree won the North Division game at Columbus Junction.
Pretz scored 20 points and Valdez added 14.
Columbus (0-10) plays at Wapello Friday.
Central Lee 55, Van Buren 52
Evan Doyle and Jake Fraise each scored 17 points to lead the Hawks to a win over Van Buren at Keosauqua.
Caleb Johnson led Van Buren with 16 points. Jaedan Gerig scored 14 and Jacob Plecker added eight.
Central Lee (5-2) plays at Keokuk Thursday. Van Buren (5-4) play at Danville Friday.
WACO 72, Cardinal 41
Nik Coble scored 20 points to lead a trio of Warriors in double figures in a South Division win at Wayland.
Matthew Leichty scored 16 for WACO and Drew Kissell added 10. Thirteen Warriors played and 10 of them scored.
New London 74, HTC 12
Alex Dentlinger scored 22 points and led the Tigers to a South Division win over Holy Trinity at New London.
Isaac McSorley scored 16 points for New London and Grant Swanson added 15 points and seven rebounds.
New London (7-2) hosts Highland Friday. Holy Trinity (2-7) hosts Notre Dame Friday.
Mediapolis 56, W-MU 52
Will Schroeder paced the Bulldogs with 18 points and Mediapolis won a North Division game at Winfield-Mount Union.
Ben Wolgemuth scored 17 for Mediapolis and Nick Ensminger added 12. Winfield-Mount Union's BJ Rodgers took game honors with 19 points. The Wolves' Cody McCreight added 10.
Mediapolis (2-6) plays Mid-Prairie at Wellman Thursday. Winfield-Mount Union (1-9) plays at Lone Tree Friday.
West Central 48, Illini West 44
Only four players scored for the Heat, but West Central topped Illini West at Biggsville, Illinois.
Ben Krieger and Bradon Annegers led West Central with 14 points each. Pat McKinney had 12 and Freeman Shoemaker added eight.
Illini West's Kennedy Gooding scored a game-high 16 points. Jackson Porter had 13, Lincoln Gooding nine and Carter Boyer six. The Chargers also had just four players scoring.
WRESTLING
Knoxville 27, Illini West 18
Illini West's Carter Wildrick and Drake Huss recorded falls, but Knoxville topped the Chargers in the dual meet at Carthage, Illinois.
Wildrick at 170 pounds pinned his opponent in 1:38. Huss (182) recorded his fall in 1:56. Santos Castillo won on a forfeit to provide six more team points for the Chargers.
