After a dramatic Christmas Day episode, which saw Robert confront his past in a Groundhog Day-esque type story, the former bad boy of the Dales looks set to go on the straight and narrow after he acknowledges his wrongdoings.
But for those who want to keep his rebellious streak, fear not – for actor Ryan Hawley has teased that Emmerdale fans will still see glimmers of Robert's villainous ways.
Speaking to the Metro, the 32-year-old explained: "There is a lot of variation to Robert's character. The RobRon stuff is very different to the scheming that he was doing with the Whites, and he's a father now too.
"I'm so lucky to be playing a part like this. It's very fun to play someone scheming and calculating.

"But at the same time it’s rewarding to play the scenes he has with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) which are more emotional and heartfelt – they show he has a heart and he has things he cares about which is what makes him redeemable."
And Emmerdale viewers will see Rob return to his conniving ways in the next few episodes – which sets of a chain of events that has disastrous consequences.
Over the Christmas period, it seemed Rebecca White (Emily Head) had had second thoughts over banning Robert from seeing his son Seb, with her heart warmed when she sees he's bought him a stack of Christmas goodies.
But things take a turn for the worse for Robert when he clashes once more with Lachlan White (Thomas Atkinson) who did what Coronation Street fans called "doing a Chesney" when he deliberately threw himself through a glass table and blamed it on his former father-in-law.

She then plans to take baby Seb away to Australia with the rest of Whites in order to stop Robert from being a destructive influence on her son.
But when Robert hires a private investigator, who discovers the White family plans to run away to Australia, the desperate dad takes action.
Recruiting sister Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) as part of yet another scheme, she is sent to distract the Whites as Robert nabs his baby, speeding away with Seb to try and figure out what to do to stop them taking him away.
When the Whites' realise Seb is missing, they chase Robert in their van, only for them to charge straight into the path of a truck.
