SoftAtHome will present a software platform developed for French energy company Direct Energie during CES 2018. The software powers Maestro, a connected object for the home, enabling Direct Energie's customers to visualise the energy consumption data from the Linky smart meters, which are currently being deployed across France by EDF's energy distribution company Enedis (previously known as ERDF).

SoftAtHome's software platform allows Maestro to combine information such as weather reports, collected via its internet connection, with real data from the Linky meters. Artificial Intelligence algorithms can provide recommendations to end-users, helping them to analyse and manage their energy consumption.

The deployment of the Linky meters, which started in 2015, is expected to reach 35 million French households by 2021. At the end of 2017, they were reportedly present in more than 8 million premises. Their installation has raised some opposition, with around 300 municipalities across France having contested the deployment in response to public concern over safety, privacy and security issues.
