Van crashes into 2 cops helping stalled car

SEPANG: Two traffic policemen attached to the KLIA district police headquarters were injured in a road accident near KL International Airport today.

The policemen were initially assisting a car that had broken down near the Sama-Sama Hotel.

KLIA police chief ACP Zulkifli Adamshah said in the 6.45am incident, a van suddenly crashed into the stalled car knocking the traffic personnel.

Lance corporals Suzaili Mohd Marzuki, 31, and Abd Mutalip Ismail, 40, suffered head injuries.

"Our men suffered head injuries and were rushed to Putrajaya Hospital for treatment," he said.

The van driver was held to facilitate the investigation.

Both policemen are believed to be in a stable condition and the case is being investigated under Section 42 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for reckless and dangerous driving.
