2 nabbed with drugs, liquor in Patiala

PATIALA: Two accused have been nabbed under sections of NDPS Act and Excise Act in separate cases by the police after drugs and liquor were recovered from them.

In one case the Bakshiwala police claimed to have recovered 5gm smack from an accused Joginder Singh of Bagol village of Nabha in Patiala. Police claimed that accused was nabbed during a police checking at a barrier installed near Sidhuwal village. The accused is booked on Tuesday under sections of 21/61/85 of NDPS Act at Bakshiwala police station.


Similarly, in another case, the Shambhu police have nabbed an accused Jatinder Singh of Dahriya village and had recovered 36 bottles of illicit liquor from him. The police claimed that accused bought these liquor bottles from neighbouring Haryana state where the liquor is cheaper than Punjab and was having plan to sell these bottles here in villages around to earn money.


The police claimed that he was arrested after a raid over his house was conducted in his village following the tip-off. The accused is booked under Sections 61/1/14 of Excise Act at Shambhu police station.
