Post-Doctoral Position in Biophysics : Pomona, CA, United States
The Lacroix laboratory at the Western University of Health Sciences (Pomona, California) uses and develops cutting-edge biophysical tools to investigate mechanotransduction processes at the molecular and cellular levels. We are seeking a highly motivated and creative individual to join our small but very dynamic team! Help is needed to develop a new type of optogenetic mechanosensors using protein engineering. Another project consists on using focused ultrasound to remotely elicit mechanical stimuli in brain cells. New ideas are also always welcome!
Qualified applicants should have a PhD in neurosciences, physiology, molecular biology, mechanobiology, biophysics or in a related field. The successful candidate would have a strong background in electrophysiology, protein engineering and/or single molecule fluorescence, excellent organization and communication (both written and oral) skills, and outstanding problem-solving and collaborative abilities.
The starting date is expected in early 2018.
