The Delaware Art Museum recently announced the return of the Juried Craft Exhibition and is seeking submissions for the show.
Artists age 18 and older who currently reside within 150 miles of the museum — 2301 Kentmere Parkway, Wilmington — are encouraged to submit up to three works of contemporary craft created within the last ten years.
Paul Sacaridiz, executive director of the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts on Deer Isle, Maine, was chosen to serve as the juror for this exhibition. Prior to his appointment there in 2015, Sacaridiz was professor and chair of the Department of Art at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He has been recognized by the National Council of Arts Administrators and the International Academy of Ceramics in Geneva, Switzerland.
Sacaridiz has served on the board of the National Council on Education for the Ceramic Arts and was the recipient of numerous artist residencies including the Ragdale Foundation, Vermont Studio Center, Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts and the Arts/Industry Program at Kohler Company.
Submissions are now open and must be completed by March 4. Late or incomplete submissions will not be accepted. Selections for the exhibition will be announced April 16, and the exhibition will be on view to the public at the Delaware Art Museum from Oct. 20, 2018, to Jan. 27, 2019.
