Eula Juanita Cathey passed away December 31, 2017
Ms. Eula Juanita Cathey of Newport, Arkansas, departed this life on Sunday, December 31, 2017, at the age of 76. She was born August 3, 1941, in Newport the daughter of Albert George, Sr., and Hilda Beatrice Cathey.
Ms. Cathey worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Harris Hospital, retiring after 45 years of service. She enjoyed gardening, working in her flower beds, and making arts and crafts. Ms. Cathey was a loving mother and granny.
She was preceded in death by one half-brother, Jay Dillahey; and one sister, Shirley Hutchinson.
Ms. Cathey is survived by one son, Bronson Cathey and wife, Crystal, of Jonesboro; one daughter, Melissa Cathey of Shreveport, Louisiana; one brother, Albert George Cathey, Jr., and wife, Karen, of Newport; one sister, Barbara Hagar of Searcy; two grandchildren, Bree Cathey and Logan Cathey; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit at the funeral home, Thursday, 6:00-8:00 p.m. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2018 at Jackson’s Newport Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following in Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers are Jody Hutchinson, David Gates, T.J. Burnside, Jason Cathey, Bo Hutchinson, and Shane Cathey.
