LAKELAND — Community members are encouraged to leave "love notes" to former Mayor Howard Wiggs, who spent 25 years on Lakeland's governing board.

LoveLakeland, the organization he helped found and champion, is honoring the long-serving elected official by collecting good tidings from residents.

"It would be wonderful to see the wall filled with the thoughts of the community as we wish Mayor Wiggs well after so many years of serving the community and loving us so well," LoveLakeland organizer Chrissanne Long said.
