David Thomas “Squirt” McNorton, 80, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018.
He was born Feb. 4, 1937, in North Topeka, to Fred and Mildred (Hiller) McNorton. He was a graduate of Seaman High School.
He married Evelyn Gomel in 1964. He was a U.S. Postal Service truck driver for 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
He enjoyed helping friends and family, watching kids and grandkids compete in their various activities and would fix anything that needed fixing and share a joke.
He was active with the North Topeka Saddle Club, Shawnee County 4-H and was a faithful blood donor.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Tamara Drylie and husband, Butch, Hays, Christine Mercer and husband, Randy, Columbus, and Stacie Adams and husband, Brian, Meriden; a brother, Wayne McNorton and wife, Bonnie; a sister, Kathleen Nolting; his grandchildren, Cody, Cash (Laura), and Clay Drylie, Randi Wiley and husband, Dustin, Beth Jones and husband, Dexter, Grady Mercer, Shanie and Kassie Adams; and a great-granddaughter Karsyn Drylie.
He was preceded in death by his siblings, Boyce, Clyde, and RosaDell.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Davidson Funeral Home, Topeka; burial in Rochester Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Christian Youth Rodeo Association (CYRA) Scholarship, or Joplin Miracle League Baseball in care of the funeral home.
