ROCKFORD — The Rock River Valley Blood Center is celebrating its 65th birthday in conjunction with National Blood Donor Month in January.
All donors who register to donate throughout the month will be offered a scratch-off from participating Papa John’s locations for a free medium one-topping pizza or order of cheesesticks. All donors are automatically entered to win assorted prizes.
A live broadcast by 23WIFR will be held Jan. 9 at the Sixth Street location. Birthday cake will be served at all donor center locations Jan. 9, and doughnuts will be served Jan. 11. The WXRX annual Rock & Rolls Up Your Sleeve Blood Drive will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 27 at International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 364, 6820 S. Mill Road.
