Susan M. Davis, 74, Kansas City, Mo., formerly of Hays, died Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, following a long-term illness.
She was born April 24, 1943, in Hays to Emil E. and Zita (Giebler) Kuhn. She grew up in nearby Plainville, where she attended Sacred Heart Grade School, was a 1961 graduate of Plainville Rural High School and a 1989 graduate of Fort Hays State University with an associate of science degree in secretarial administration.

She worked in the family grocery store from an early age until the store was sold a few years after she graduated from high school.

Survivors include two sons, Michael Davis and wife, Shana, and Christopher Davis; a daughter, Cynthia Davis; five brothers, Ronald Kuhn and wife, Cindy, Earl Kuhn and wife, Kasey, Richard “Whitey” Kuhn and wife, Fran, Raymond Kuhn and wife, Jana, and Vernon Kuhn and wife, Cindy; a sister, Phyllis Schapker and husband, Richard; four grandchildren, Micaela, Austin, Ayden, and Rylie Davis; and many nieces and nephews and their families.
 She was preceded in death by her parents.

Services were Wednesday at Little Sisters of the Poor, Kansas City, Mo.; burial in St. Fidelis Cemetery, Victoria.
