Celebrity Big Brother: Actresses who give sex for a role ‘have a choice’, says Ann
ANN Widdecombe yesterday told her Celebrity Big Brother housemates that actresses have a “choice” about trading sexual favours for roles.
The former MP, 70, also said she does not think there is a problem with the level of women’s representation in Parliament.
On their first night in the house, the all-women cast of the Channel 5 show discussed disgraced film producer Harvey Weinstein.
Benidorm actress Amanda Barrie, 82, who is gay, said: “When it comes to Harvey Weinstein I just think somebody should have said, ‘It’s not really worth it darling, I’d rather not get the part’.”
Daily Express columnist Ann said: “I tend to agree, there was a choice.”

Later, she pointed out that Met Police Commissioner Cressida Dick had got to the top despite most senior officers being men.
Journalist Rachel Johnson, Boris Johnson’s sister, 52, said: “That’s like saying Margaret Thatcher was prime minister, therefore we don’t have a problem with women’s representation in Parliament.”
“Well, actually I don’t think we do,” the former politician replied.
Celebrity Big Brother airs at 9pm on Channel 5.
