Ruth Scott, 98, WaKeeney, died Monday, Jan. 1, 2018, at Trego County-Lemke Memorial Hospital, Long Term Care, WaKeeney.
She was born Nov. 6, 1919, in WaKeeney to Solomon and Katherina (Karst) Deines. She was a 1939 graduate of Trego Community High School.
She married Maxie Harold Scott on Sept. 28, 1946, in Harrison, Mo. He preceded her in death June 26, 1982. She worked at Quality Café and Standard Café.
Survivors include a son, Stephen Scott, St. Paul Minn.; five daughters, Helen Wolf and Maxine Smith, both of Salina, Martha Kippes, Wichita, Mary Hartman, Grainfield, and Margaret Anderes, Gypsum; 14 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Solomon Scott.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m.Friday at Schmitt Funeral Home, WaKeeney;burial in WaKeeney City Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran Church or Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post No. 3449 in care of the funeral home.
