Sources said Araria district has been considered and included as one of the most backward district by the Union government. "The draft of district action plan has been prepared based on feedback given by various departments," said the DM before leaving for the meeting. He also added, "It is a legend document for improvement of health, education, infrastructure, agriculture and allied sectors through skill development for 30 lakh population of the district."

"It has plan for fulfilment of broad objectives and identified sources of funds including convergence of all central and state-sponsored schemes and other available funds to meet such objectives," he added.
The draft vision contains quarterly and yearly target. It also contains the roadmap for creation of jobs to local farmers, residents in several items including production of vermi compost, mushroom production units, maize-based industry (cattle and poultry feed ) and makhana processing training, etc. "The vision draft has also focussed access to portable water, road connectivity of villages and electricity to household etc. It also contains the identification of critical gap and challenges in transforming Araria district," said the DM.

"The Union government had recently sent a joint secretary rank officer Hukum Singh Meena to Araria to interact with the officials of the district administration and explore possibilities for development and also help in preparing of the district action plan to remove backwardness in the district," said sources.
