Wixen Music Publishing is suing Spotify for $1.6 billion for using Tom Petty, Neil Young, and Doors songs, among others, without a license. The Calabasas, California-based publisher is the exclusive licensee for thousands of songs, including “Free Fallin” by Tom Petty, “Light My Fire” by the Doors, and “(Girl We Got a) Good Thing” by Weezer, according to the New York Post. It also controls the works of singer Stevie Nicks. Wixen is suing for damages along with injunctive relief. According…
