Govt reshuffles portfolios of ministers, jr ministers

The government on Wednesday reshuffled the portfolios of six ministers and state ministers and gave portfolios to two new ministers and a state minister.

Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon was given the portfolio of Social Welfare Ministry, while his Civil Aviation ministry has been given to AKM Shahjahan Kamal, an MP from Laxmipur-3 constituency.

Water Resources Minister Anisul Islam Mahmud, and Environment and Forest Minister Anwar Hossain Manju have exchanged their portfolios.

IT expert Mustafa Jabbar was made Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister.

State Minister for Fisheries and Livestock Narayon Chandra Chando has been made full minister.

Besides, state minister for Posts and Telecommunications Tarana Halim was made state minister for Information.

Rajbari-1 MP Kazi Keramat Ali, who was sworn in as a state minister on Tuesday, was given the responsibility of Technical and Madrasha Education Division, reports UNB.

Meanwhile, Nuruzzaman Ahmed was made state minister for Social Welfare Ministry.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expanded her cabinet inducting three new faces into it and promoting a state minister to a full one.

They all took oath at Bangabhaban in the evening. President Abdul Hamid administered oath to them at 6:30pm, UNB added.

Of them, Narayon Chandra Chanda, AKM Shahjahan Kamal and IT expert Mustafa Jabbar were sworn in as ministers while Rajbari-1 MP Kazi Keramat Ali was sworn in as a state minister.

AIMD
