Around 2,000 km of fibre-optic lines will be built in remote areas of Uzbekistan this year, according to a speech made by Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Uzbekistan President, in the national parliament. More than 4,000 new mobile base stations are planned to be deployed across the country, and internet speeds will increase by 100-150 percent. Internet and mobile services will become available in more than 600 additional settlements, he said.
