Grail Group’s proprietary Grail Quest ® online tournament service launches commercially after an extended beta phase at the end of the year.  The newest version facilitates wider range of games, offers more for gamers and provides better tool for partners.

Beta test phase that ran for the best part of the year included a lot of study, product & software development, but was focused on actual use cases. These real-world learnings guided the direction for both the programming and business side of the platform. Demands for more varied uses and requirements for partnering set the goals for the launch.

Version 1.6 as a commercial release

Grail Quest® services 1.6 patch was released just in time for the 2017 Holiday season. It also meant an evolution of the platform from beta-stage to a fully commercial version.  “Feels awesome to finally come out with an update that has the last few pieces of the puzzle in place.” Kalle Koskela co-founder of Grail Group continues: “The road is now paved for international users starting with the Nordics and English-speaking countries.”

Key features include: * Other Games – besides the more automated LoL, CS:Go and Heartstone tournaments, organizers are now able to set-up competitions on any game, digital or analog, live or online, with only minimal manual effort

  • Swiss Format – together with previous single- and double-elimination brackets, swiss-style tournament format is now an option for organizers
  • Light Admin – as current users are able to only set-up tournaments, we can appoint Light Admin -status to select partners. Now streamers, tournament organizers or brands can completely manage their own events
  • Invite Tournaments – for those more private competitions it’s now possible to invite people to join otherwise hidden tournaments with a simple link

Online tournaments on a new level

Starting early in 2018 the service will provide various hosted events, on top of what the users create themselves. Grail Group together with brand partners will offer a new level of online competitions that rival local live events. Partnering with various esports organizations, teams and streamers will create an exciting flair for the community. The platform will also be used for live esports events starting with those ran under the Grail Quest® –banner. First events will be announced by end of Q1 2018 – stay tuned!
