Cricketer Mohammed Shami faced flak for posting a picture of Shiv Ling on Twitter. He tweeted this picture and wrote, "As the New Year renews all the happiness and good tidings, hope the joyful spirit keeps glowing in your heart forever! Happy New Year!"2018 to you and family's." One user wrote, "New year tumhe hi mubarak ho me ek muslim ho mera new year moharram se shuro hota he [Let the New year only be for you. I am a Muslim and my new year starts with Moharram]." Meanwhile, one felt Shami is doing this for 'cheap publicity'.
