The statue of former Chelsea and Ghana star Michael Essien
First it was Cristiano Ronaldo, then it was Diego Maradona. Now it’s Michael Essien’s turn to hit the headlines because of a new statue.
Essien, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid star, is the latest footballer to be “honoured” by having a statue made of him.
Unveiled in his homeland of Ghana, the statue of Essien has been the subject of much comment on social media.
