Rescue helicopter lifts injured person from bush in Whangarei's Parihaka

The Northland Rescue Helicopter has airlifted a person from Drummond Track on Parihaka Reserve, Whangarei.

The person is believed to have fallen while on the track about 10.18am this morning and the difficult terrain means they cannot be brought out by hand.

The person was lifted out of the track by the rescue helicopter at 11.09am and taken to Whangarei Hospital for treatment.

No further details of the person or their injuries are available at this stage.

Parihaka Reserve has a number of popular walking tracks.
