Two other groups of cities in the Brazilian state of Sao Paulo will completely switch off the analogue TV signal on 17 January. The change will affect the city of Campinas and another 84 municipalities, as well as 19 cities in the Paraiba Valley. In these two regions, which together have about 10 million inhabitants, the transition to the digital TV system started in November 2017.
At its last meeting in 2017, the Digital TV Deployment Group (Gired) decided to increase the number of municipalities that will have the analogue signal switched off on 31 January, including the cities of Franca and Ribeirao Preto and 43 surrounding municipalities.
