Providential escape for passengers; one person seriously injured

There was panic and turmoil when a passenger bus overturned and fell into a ditch under Sukhi Sevania police station at about 12.30 pm on Tuesday. Passersby and other people rescued the passengers.
Fortunately there was no casualty in the mishap and only one person sustained serious injury. According to the information, the bus driver had dozed off leading to the accident.
The incident took place near Toll Naka Bhadbhada. Police have registered a case.
Sukhi Sevania Police Station in-charge Mahendra Mishra said the bus was on way to Allahabad from Surat. The bus departed from the bus stand at about 11 am.
There were 17 passengers in the bus. According to information when the bus reached near Toll Naka under Sukhi Sevania Police Station, the bus driver dozed off and the bus overturned and fell into a ditch. Passengers started crying for help as soon as the bus overturned.
Passersby informed police. The police took out the passengers from the bus with the help of locals. Rajbhan Saket, 27, suffered fracture in both his legs and has been hospitalized.
Bus driver Vinod Tiwari said the bus overturned suddenly and he could not understand what happened. Police took out the bus from the ditch with the help of poklaim machines.
God saved us
Passengers said the way the bus overturned they felt they would not remain alive. It was God’s mercy that they are alive. The passengers were in a state of shock after the accident.
Some passengers said the driver was driving very fast and recklessly. Police said the possibility that the driver was in inebriated state could not be ruled out.Investigations are on in the case.
