College Softball: Sandburg lands Woodstock’s Vosburgh

GALESBURG — Julia Vosburgh, a senior at Woodstock High School, has signed to continue her softball and volleyball career next year at Carl Sandburg College.

Vosburgh, a catcher and corner infielder, batted .327 with four home runs, 12 doubles, three triples and 37 RBIs for the Blue Streaks last season. She also threw out 42 percent (30 of 71) of attempted base-stealers in 262 innings behind the plate and had a .984 fielding percentage (four errors in 255 chances) as a junior.

The 5-foot-9 Vosburgh is a middle blocker on the volleyball court. She’ll join a Chargers program that won the Region IV tournament title last fall to advance to the NJCAA Division II Volleyball Championship for the first time.
