STORM Eleanor is causing problems across the region this morning, with many properties left without power and trees blown down by strong winds.

Powerful gusts have brought down a tree in Belvedere Road, Scarborough, which has partially blocked the road.

Hackness Road in Scarborough is also partially blocked by a fallen tree.

Another tree has fallen on the A166 Main Street in Wetwang, East Yorkshire and is partly blocking the road.

More than 300 properties have lost power in North Yorkshire this morning following the storm.

There are 110 premises with no power in the YO10 area near Hull Road.

Power is expected to be restored by 11.45am.

Northern Powergrid is currently working to restore power to 60 premises in the Brayton and Selby area.

It expects the power to be back on by 4pm.

There is a power outage in the Church Fenton area, which is affecting around 50 premises.

Northern Powergrid hopes to restore the power by 10.30am.

In addition, 130 properties in Harrogate are expected to be without power until 11.30am.

Twenty properties were also without power in the Upper Helmsley area, near Stamford Bridge.

Meanwhile, City of York Council has confirmed York's Bar Walls have been closed this morning due to the high winds, but could be opened later if the wind drops.
