The police was suspecting the involvement of two mentally disturbed persons in two different incidents of attacks on mosques in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Andhra Pradesh police has arrested on Maniratnam in connection with the murder of the priest of Noorani Mosque in Lalachervu near Rajahmundry on the night of last Thursday. Assistant Imam of the mosque Mohammed Farooq was brutally murdered and the holy Quran was burnt by the unknown miscreants causing tension in the area.
In another similar incident in Mallapur village of Jagtiyal district, the police have detained a mentally disturbed person for questioning. In the incident the miscreant had desecrated the mosque and burnt the copies of Holy Quran on the night of December 29.
