He reassured the people of Tamil Nadu that his entry into politics had a wider connotation and was not merely confined to political bureaucracy.

But rows of controversies flared up with the big announcement. The world of reel and the game of politics both have their feet submerged in words and debates. Just after the big revelation, in a shocking remark, director SR Prabhakaran tweeted that he would never vote for the superstar.

He tweeted, "With Love, to Rajinikanth sir, I am your ardent fan, and I have registered that fact in my very first debut film. But, as a voter of this country, as a Tamilian, I cannot vote for you. Let us bring about a change. This Tamil state should be ruled only by a Tamilian. As for the Tamil Film Industry, you are forever our Superstar. Thanks."

Rajnikanth is yet to respond on the line. The political entry of the legend has not been all roses and glitters; there have been strong words before. His political ideology has been in the shadow of many debates baffled with cynicism and doubtful glances with regards to his political faith. Rajinikanth is also known as a Dalit activist.
