Fort Smith police are investigating the reported kidnapping of a local woman in the early hours of New Year's Eve.

Fort Smith police officer Daniel Vaught was dispatched at 3 a.m. Sunday to the 500 block of South 18th Street in reference to the incident. The reported victim's wife told Vaught that her wife had been kidnapped while she was walking down the road, according to the offense report.

The victim called her wife while she was speaking to Vaught. She told Vaught and her wife to come to the intersection of South 10th and H streets, where the two men who had reportedly kidnapped her had dropped her off, the report states.

The victim told Vaught that she was grabbed by a large, tall white man with a bald head and a skinny white man with a beard about 15 minutes after she walked out of her house. She said the two men threw her in the trunk of their white car, the report states.

The woman said the men drove her to the intersection, told her that her wife was "f---ing with the wrong people" and left her there, the report states.

The woman said she knew who the men were but did not want to tell the police, the report states.
